Kinds of background of Japanese screen(Byobu)
Our company,YOKOYAMA, makes Byobu to order. All Byobu, so-called Kyo-Byobu are produced in Kyoto by a skilled paper craftsman and an excellent artist-painter. We are certain to respond to your request with a fine quality of different motives of four seasons in Kyoto.
| Torinoko: | Traditional Japanese rice-paper. The simplest background. It will tell your history with times by its tanning. |
| Jun Kinpaku: | Pure gold leaf which has been used for traditional art crafts in Japan as well as aboard from old times. One of favorite materials for its light luster and unique tingle appreciated with the time being. |
| Odo Kinpaku: | Gold and brass leaf which is strong against corrosion and has a good brightness. Besides , it is made easy to handle. One of the materials used from the old time which has a variety of colors and a little darker than pure gold. |
| Ginji: | Silver leaf. Although silver is easy to oxidize and to change its color, it has been used for fine arts because of its excellent quality and beauty. In case of screen, they make a coating before painting on it, so it gives the screen a nice atmosphere and a deep tone with times. |
| Yaki Gin: | Silver leaf which is technically treated with a high temperature to defend from the oxidization. It make its blue color more quiet. |
| Mokumekin: | Background doubled with 2 sheets of fine silk over the gold leaf. It results of giving the surface of ground a thin gloss through the texture of silk. It could be used for any type of room, because of its effect of diminishing the strong luster of gold. |
Byobu is produced in compliance with your order. Therefore, it will take at least one or two months before sending it out to you.
