NAMIKI Hajime was born in Tokyo. He started out as a sculptor, but began making wood block print in 1978. His prints are popular and have been widely exhibited. The artist self-carves his blocks and self-prints each work using traditional methods. The works are rendered on gold or silver leaf laid over Torinoko paper,giving them a subtle sheen and heightening the impact of the images. In contrast to most woodblock prints that use watercolor,Namiki uses oil-based paints.

Ryohei was born in Takatsuki Osaka. He is an etcher. When he started his career under his master Mr.Furuno in 1963 he was well beyond school age. What grabbed him was the medium. And he had known what he wanted to depict: the world from which he sprang and the world in which he lived-particularly where man and nature mixed. He is the one who has played with his tools,extended into dry point and aquatint and color.

Success remained with the artist. After a gallery exhibition in New York and a book Publication of  his works titled yoto Romance he is as famous as a woodblock artist as he used to be a kimono designer.
