1943年、京都市立絵画専門学校日本画科を学徒動員のため繰上げ卒業。
1949年から1998年まで長きにわたり、京都、東京、ピッツバーグ国際現代絵画彫刻展、コーコラン美術館，ワシントン、第8回サンパウロ・ビエンナーレ、他美術館展覧会にて展示。都府文化賞功労賞受賞、京都市文化功労者賞受賞。

Graduated early from the Japanese Painting Department of the Kyoto Municipal College of Painting in 1943 due to mobilisation of students.
From 1949 to 1998, exhibitions at museums in Kyoto, Tokyo, Pittsburgh International Exhibition of Contemporary Painting and Sculpture, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington DC, and the 8th Sao Paulo Biennial. He was awarded the Kyoto Prefecture Prize for Cultural Merit and the Kyoto City Prize for Cultural Merit.
