現如上人が北海道を巡教している様子を描いたものであるが、函館から小樽ゼニバコへ御渡海される際に、不思議なことに船の後ろに巨大なエイがついてきたという。
小樽では「カムイコリフシ」というものだという。奇岩のそびえる場所に現如上人が降り立った際に再び姿を見せたという。
