相馬焼は素材と釉薬との収縮率の違いから生じる 貫入（かんにゅう）というひび割れが器全体に拡がって、「青ひび」と呼ばれる地模様になっています。このひびが入るときに出る「貫入音」は,鈴のなるような繊細で美しい音です。
また、相馬焼独特の技法として、二重構造がよく知られています。
入れた湯が覚めにくく、手に持っても熱くありません。人々の生活に溶けこんだ器として、使いやすいように作られています。

In Soma-yaki, cracks called intrusions caused by the difference in shrinkage between the material and the glaze spread throughout the vessel, creating a ground pattern called "blue cracks".
The "penetration sound" that is produced when this crack occurs is a delicate and beautiful sound that makes a bell.
In addition, the double structure is well known as a technique unique to Soma Yaki.
The hot water you put in is hard to wake up, and it is not hot even if you hold it in your hand. It is made to be easy to use as a vessel that blends into people's lives.
