Matsuo Basho said to have praised the scenic beauty of the numerous small islands dotted with green pine trees in the bay. Rain falls gently and the islands in the distance are shrouded in a haze, through which small boats pass by. The contrast with the strong pine trees in the near view is magnificent.

松尾芭蕉は、湾内に点在する青松の小島群の風光明媚さを讃えたという。雨は静かに降り、遠くの島々は霞み、その中を小舟が行き交う。近景の力強い松林との対比が見事です。
