浅野竹二（1900～1998）
京都生まれ。京都市立絵画専門学校で日本画を専攻、土田麦僊の率いる「山南塾」に入塾し、国画創作協会展に出品するなど日本画家として活躍しました。31才ころより木版画の制作をはじめ、小林清親の「東京名所」に触発され日本各地の名所や行事などを題材にした「名所絵版画シリーズ」を手がけ、一方で自由な表現のもとに創作版画を制作しました。
Takeji Asano (1900-1998)
Born in Kyoto. He majored in Japanese painting at Kyoto Municipal College of Painting and entered the Sannan Juku school led by Tsuchida Bakusen, and became active as a Japanese-style painter, exhibiting his works at the Exhibition of the Society for the Creation of National Painting. He also produced creative prints based on his free expression.
