Born in 1946 in Chigasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture.

After exhibiting actor paintings at the Kabukiza Theatre for 22 years, he created the self-portrait series "Loneliness," "Cat Kabuki," which uses his beloved cat as a motif, and the optical illusion series "Five Themes Dedicated to Arcimboldo."

He is currently continuing his portrait series of ukiyo-e artists, "Five Figures of the Banzai Ukiyo-e School."
The number 161 in the upper right is the work number.
Tosa ganpishi paper is used.
Ganpishi paper has short, thin fibers that make it a dense, tightly packed paper with a smooth surface and a beautiful luster. It is strong and resistant to insect damage, so it is used for restoring old books and artworks, and for copperplate prints.


昭和21年 (1946年)、神奈川県茅ヶ崎市生まれ。

歌舞伎座で役者絵の発表を22年間続けた後、自画像の連作「孤独」、愛猫をモチーフにした「猫の歌舞伎」や、だまし絵のシリーズ「アルチンボルド捧ぐ五題」を制作。
現在は浮世絵師の肖像シリーズ「万歳浮世絵派五姿」を続けている。

雁皮紙は繊維が短く細いため、密度が高く、紙目が詰まっており、表面が滑らかで美しい光沢があります。強度があり、虫害にも強いため、古書や美術品の修復、銅版画などに使われています。
